Over the last 10+ years, I have worked as an in-home family therapist, a trauma therapist for children and their families at a Child Advocacy Center, and most recently as a senior counselor at a SUNY institution. Areas of specialty include trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, stress, and life transitions.
I strive for a strengths-based, holistic, and collaborative approach to therapy. While I may be an expert on mental health, you're the expert on you and what you need. Therefore, I enjoy a person-centered approach, placing you in the driver's seat, determining our speed and destination, while I ride along beside you, providing support and guidance throughout the journey.
Research has repeatedly shown that the therapeutic relationship between the counselor and client is one of the most important factors in successful therapy outcomes. Because of this, I spend a lot of time building rapport and developing our relationship, primarily by getting to know you and your story as best I can. With trust being at the foundation of this relationship, I will do all I can to grow this trust within the context of a safe, non-judgmental, and inclusive space.
I am here to listen to your struggles, successes, fears and beliefs without judgment in a safe, supportive environment.
